dance EDUCATOR

Lara Andary (she/her)

Lara Andary danced competitively from a young age, traveling across the US, Canada, and overseas. Her teaching and choreography journey included working with dancers in both competitive and non-competitive programs for more than 9 years, along with completing the first year ADAPT teacher certification. She also led local figure skaters and cheer teams in off-ice technique and strength training.

Lara trained extensively in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and musical theater - in ADAPT, CDTA, and Cecchetti. Outside her home studio, her training included the National Ballet School of Canada, as well as classes at widely known studios in New York City and London. She performed as a guest soloist and group performer throughout Spain and at the World’s Fair. Her competitive performances received numerous awards and distinctions; including the Dance Masters of America National Tap Dance Champion in the 11-14 age category.

After completing her Bachelor of Science in Business, Lara worked in public and nonprofit industries - with a focus on strategic communications and community development. Over time, she’s remained committed to teaching and learning - providing instruction and volunteer resources in K-12 schools. More recently, she embarked on her role as assistant director and choreographer, joining a long-standing children’s theatre program in the US, where she spends each summer.
